ZeoFeed® is a natural mineral Clinoptilolite of the Zeolite family, it is a 100% natural animal feed additive and its entire production process takes place according to ISO and FAMI-QS standards. The advantages of our product are numerous, listing just a few: gut health, binding of mycotoxins (aflatoxin and other) from molds, increase feed efficiency (FCR) and reduced footpad burns from litter by binding ammonia, odor control, and increase animal health, which lowers mortality and so doing increases profit gain.
A diverse number of animal studies have investigated the potential of Zeolite Clinoptilolite as a multifunctional feed additive. Among Zeolite, Clinoptilolite is the most well studied in its effects as an anticaking, zootechnical and biomedical feed ingredient. Clinoptilolite is showing impressive potential in replacing antibiotic growth promoters (AGP) it also has shown significant results in stimulating the immune system of animals having an overall improvement of health.
The following information will show how this novel feed additive ZeoFeed® can be validated as an important product to help maintain health, production and fertility in your farm animals.
A study done on diarrhea on 30 newborn Holstein calves found that adding 1.0g/kg body weight lowered the plasma IgG (Immunoglobulin G) antibodies concentration which could have the beneficial effect of lowering diarrhea. The lower the antibodies the less an animal had to fight a disease, in this case enteric bacteria that causes diarrhea.
A study done on 42 dairy cows found that Zeolite Clinoptilolite addition to cows during prepartum and early lactation period had a significant increase in milk, fat-,protein- and Ca plasma yield. The financial benefit for increasing milk, fat and protein is obvious but the animal health and future production of having extra Ca during this transitional period should not be understated. This may lead to alleviating subclinical hypocalcemia (milk fever) caused by the Ca imbalance during parturition and early lactation.
Adding Zeolite Clinoptilolite in the concentrate during the dry period of dairy cows could be a very cost effective mechanism for reducing production lifespan of animal, thus decreasing costs incurred by negative effects of subclinical milk fever.
A study made on 240 day old male chicks showed significant increases in gut digestive enzymes (protease and amylase). Enzymes can increase the efficiency of feed as they make more nutrients available not normally available to the animal. The importance in this cannot be glossed over as many products are being developed today that is almost 100% enzymes, added to feed to do just what was found by adding Cliniptilolite.
Our Product ZeoFeed® which is 100% Zeolite Clinoptilolite and milled to specification have been found to significantly increased (p<0.05) activity in enzymatic activities in gut. Adding only 1% to a basic maize-soyabean diet can help increase feed intake and body weight gain significantly. These are made possible by making the nutrients more digestible by having more enzymes present.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) along with the centers for disease control and Prevention (CDC) has made clear that antibacterial resistance and antimicrobial drug use will be closely monitored, starting with new projects in 2021 specifically in animal use. An alternative to traditional antibiotics needs to be implemented to help against the growing concern for antibiotic resistance. ZeoFeed® has the potential to fill this gap and improve upon it.
Antibiotics are increasingly becoming less effective around the world; this is backed up by the world Health Organization (WHO). The need for a replacement of antibiotics for something similar has led to the beneficial effects found in using Zeolite. A study using laying hens over a period of 23 weeks showed a significant reduction in poultry pathogens without disturbing beneficial bacteria normally found in gut. They further concluded that these benefits are relevant to other animals and even humans.
Another study by found a significant reduction in salmonella levels in broilers fed Zeolite in all seasons with some production parameter increases during winter period in this study.
The 100% natural aluminosilicate mineral Zeolite being porous, cation rich and non-swelling all leads to the beneficial properties of being selective in binding of heavy metals, aflatoxins and not nutritional compounds like amino acids or vitamins.
